The BUT (Bachelor universitaire de technologie)
It is actually is a Bachelor's degree in Business management.
Once they have passed their degree, most students continue with their university studies in various fields (finance, accounting, management, marketing, human resources) with a Marster's degree.
Academic Programs
GEA (Gestion des entreprises et des administrations):
Business management
The department offers a three-year intensive training course combining academic, technological and professional teaching.
The objective is to gain a command of management, accountancy and corporate strategy, as well as a sound basic knowledge of economics, law, mathematics, IT, communication, English, sociology. The students specialize in year 2 either in Finance and accountancy or in Entrepreneurship & Activity management..
They also develop personal qualities such as taking initiative, taking on responsibilities, building team spirit, soft & hard skills.
Work placements/Internships
In year 2, a ten-week internship, usually starting in March/April, gives the students the opportunity to carry out a real professional mission thanks to the knowledge of management acquired at the university. In year 3, they carry out a 12-week internship, starting in March.
Each student is supervised by both a personal tutor from the university and a work experience manager within the firm.
A few examples of placements:
- banks: customer file management /insurance campaign / customer canvassing
- chambers of commerce: event management/ web marketing
- chartered accountants': customer file analysis / auditing project / updating accounting records
- companies, administrations: payroll management / accountancy / cost benefit analysis / customer satisfaction survey

It offers the 8000 students in higher education there excellent facilities thanks to its theatres, cinemas, shopping centres, summer festivals, and a wide variety of sports activities.
The surroundings are very pleasant and the town is close to the sea (Les Sables d'Olonne, La Tranche-sur-Mer).
